Flora and Franklin are Married!

Franklin ran into me at the hotel lobby and greeted me with a warm hug and thanked me for being there on his wedding day. Upstairs, in the hotel suite, his bride, Flora would do the same–welcome me with a tight hug and a gift of handmade soap from Hawaii! Flora and Franklin are both incredibly kind, humble, and intelligent, and are a perfect match. They are two of the most gracious people that I’ve had the privilege to photograph.

During the toasts, Franklin’s best man told the story of how Franklin found an injured bird one day and went to great lengths to save it. He painted a picture of a compassionate, thoughtful guy wearing a backpack filled with school books and an injured bird. Franklin shows this same compassion to friends, family, and even strangers.

Flora is confident, smart, and the most loyal friend. When you meet Flora, she exudes a quiet independence, and a strong, but sweet personality with smiling eyes. During the wedding ceremony, as they exchanged heartfelt vows, it was clear how she loves fiercely and how much Franklin adores his bride.

The Thursday Club has a lovely garden area where Flora and Franklin would exchange their vows.

There were definitely genuine smiles, and a few tears during the First Look.

I love this romantic photo of the bride and groom, just a few moments after seeing each other for the first time.

Flora looked beautiful in her wedding dress and long veil.

I love couples that are unafraid to show their inner nerd! Here’s a photo of Flora vowing to “live long and prosper” with Franklin. How awesome is that?!

Married!!!

Flora included a unique and personal touch by providing Japanese origami tutorials that guests can craft during reception.

A lovely dessert table included green tea French macarons!

After the ceremony, the bride and groom, along with her bridal party, snuck away for a few minutes to visit Sunset Cliffs in San Diego, California.

The view was breathtaking!

Flora and Franklin enjoy being outdoors, and I LOVE them for being so adventurous on their wedding day! We were able to capture the beautiful couple in an amazing setting, such as Sunset Cliffs, and the incredible surf below.

Franklin’s uncle delivered a captivating speech, and later would sing a song by Elvis! Everyone needs an Uncle Edward in their life.

Instead of the tradition of smashing wedding cake, the fun couple played a spontaneous game of catch the macaron. Yes, these two are a pretty adorable couple.

Their family and friends agree wholeheartedly.

Flora and Franklin, thank you so much for including me in your wedding day at the Thursday Club. I loved meeting your families, and photographing all of the treasured moments you shared with them.  It’s truly an honor that you chose me to photograph your most special day yet.
