He had her at ‘hello’. Well, sort of. The first thing he uttered to her when they first met was, “Hi, this workout really isn’t helping my hangover”. Of course, this made her laugh! It definitely made me laugh out loud when I learned that this was how their love story began. It’s so unpretentious and real–just like the two of them, and just like their love for each other. Heather and Shane met at the gym and both would sneak glances at each other inbetween elliptical machines. Heather removed her earphones while she was doing ab work (This gives the subtle message of, “I’m free to talk” when working out. If you didn’t know and you’re single, you’re welcome. Let me know how it goes ;))

From that first meeting, sparks flew and their love grew. On June 1st, 2013, Heather and Shane made it official and exchanged wedding vows infront of their family and close friends. Their wedding was at the Christmas House Inn in Rancho Cucamonga, California. It was such a beautiful wedding, trimmed with Heather’s creativity. The venue was cozy and intimate, with feelings of nostalgia for the “good ole’ days.” I half expected to smell fresh-baked cookies wafting from the vintage kitchen to tease us as we got ready upstairs.

I was honored to witness their marriage and be one of Heather’s bridesmaids.  There were lots of happy tears shed that hot, summer day (It was triple digits!). My husband and I couldn’t be happier for Shane and Heather and we had such a fun time celebrating their forever kind of love.

With the official wedding photographer’s permission, I snapped some images throughout parts of the day to document their beautiful wedding and all of the special details that were a labor of Heather’s love. I wanted to wait a couple of months after the wedding day before posting this blog to give the official wedding photographer plenty of time to deliver the images and publish the wedding photos.

Teal shoes are super fun. I love them a little extra because the color happens to match my logo (haha!) I thought that the hearts under the soles of her shoes were such a cute idea! Heather is super creative. I wish that she lived closer to me so that we could craft like crazy while the boys watch football. 🙂Christmas House Inn Wedding | www.KristineMariePhotography.com | San Diego Wedding & Engagement Photographer Christmas House Inn Wedding | www.KristineMariePhotography.com | San Diego Wedding & Engagement Photographer

These are images from years ago of Heather’s grandmother and aunts’ wedding day. I loved this idea, too!Christmas House Inn Wedding | www.KristineMariePhotography.com | San Diego Wedding & Engagement PhotographerHeather and Shane exchanged two letters that day: one they opened before the ceremony, another to open on their five-year wedding anniversary while enjoying a beautifully-aged bottle of wine.

I heard that they were about to cut the cake, and couldn’t jump off the swing fast enough. 😉 Thanks, Rex for indulging the little kid in me and snapping this photo of me on the swing. Christmas House Inn Wedding | www.KristineMariePhotography.com | San Diego Wedding & Engagement PhotographerChristmas House Inn Wedding | www.KristineMariePhotography.com | San Diego Wedding & Engagement Photographer

I just kept saying,”awww,” while reading your blog and looking through these images. I remember going to Heather’s house when I was still in college and playing board games for hours. It was so much fun to hang out with both of you and get to know her better. I’m so happy for her!

I forgot all about that time. We were playing Taboo. I’m pretty sure it was because of that time at Heather’s house that I went to Target the next day to buy Taboo for our house. LOL.

“That thing that Dad has!” Haha, we can definitely play a good game of Taboo.:)

You and me against Heather and Rayna! CHALLENGE! 😉

Great photos Kristine! You are so talented! I can’t wait to see the photos you take of Heather and Shane’s future babies 😉

Thanks for the encouragement, Rayna.
LOL YES! Wish you lived closer, too! 😉
