He is French pressed coffee, a mix of East Coast grit and smooth dry humor that contrasts his boyish good looks. She is California red wine, a classic beauty with the sophistication and smarts to match. Lindsay has an old soul with an appreciation for good books and art. They both have wanderlust. Together, Lindsay and Nick love to go off the grid and travel.
They married at Darlington House in La Jolla, CA surrounded by their family and closest friends. Their wedding palette was a mix of garlands and greens, white florals, champagne, and pops of bright blue to highlight the Spanish tile throughout their wedding venue. Classic never goes out of style, and their wedding was elegant and lively. Below are photos from their beautiful wedding day at historic Darlington House.
How he proposed:
In the middle of a workweek, Lindsay and Nick were enjoying happy hour at sunset at Windandsea Beach in La Jolla. The happy hour was complete with an amazing ocean view and wine, but lacking in cheese. (Gasp! ;)) Nick more than made up for it when he got down on one knee and proposed to Lindsay with a gorgeous diamond ring. The engagement diamond was reset from his mother’s engagement ring!
The two met at work and Nick secretly had a crush on Lindsay. He kept his feelings hidden for a while before asking her out. After many dates, travels, and Sunday dinners with family, Nick asked Lindsay’s dad for his permission and blessing before asking for his daughter’s hand in marriage.
Lindsay, you’re a gorgeous bride!
After the ceremony, Lindsay and Nick jumped in a bright blue Mach 1 and drove to Windandsea beach, where Nick had proposed.
I love these photos of Nick and Lindsay surrounded by their best friends on their best day.
The couple highlighted the historic California feel of their wedding venue. Darlington House in La Jolla has beautiful Spanish decor with bright blue Spanish tile and architecture. They also hired a Spanish guitarist to play during cocktail hour.
The bride’s something blue is pretty epic–her grandfather’s bright blue Mach 1 Mustang.
The new Mr. and Mrs. danced to the song, “Right Down the Line” by Gerry Rafferty.
Congratulations, Lindsay and Nick! Wishing you a lifetime of adventures together, along with all the wonderfully messy and mundane that a beautiful marriage has to offer. Cheers!
Friends and family of the happy couple, please feel free to leave a note below to congratulate the newlyweds!
