Ilove that more and more expecting mothers are doing maternity portraits with professional photographers. I think it is one of those milestones that should be captured and cherished for generations. I often hear from expecting moms that it is sometimes hard to feel beautiful when your body changes so drastically, and you have a big, pregnant belly. I love that I can photograph and make new moms feel extra beautiful during their pregnancy.

Felicia wants to be able to have a keepsake documenting her pregnancy, and to have beautiful maternity photos to remember this precious time as a Mom.  I had the pleasure of taking her maternity pictures at Keys Creek Lavender Farms, which has quickly become one of my favorite venues and photography locations here in San Diego. Keys Creek Lavender Farms is located at the following address: 12460 Keys Creek Rd, Valley Center, CA 92082. It is a beautiful place in San Diego with lots of different settings that are both romantic, rustic and charming. Felicia and I had a great time exploring the different settings at the lavender farm.

She is due next month and her and her husband, Tyler are expecting a baby boy. They want to name their baby boy Liam Tyler (after his dad.) The lovely couple also have a beautiful little girl named Aurora. Aurora is super excited about having a baby brother, and I thought it was adorable that she snuck in some kisses on her mom’s belly during our maternity session. She can’t wait to be a big sister to baby Liam.

There’s always a lot of excitement and anticipation when a couple is expecting. This is Felicia’s second pregnancy and she shares some advice to new moms, “All pregnancies are different. Some people love being pregnant and have no discomforts and others aren’t so lucky. So don’t feel bad if you aren’t having the same type of pregnancy as your friends. It is all worth it in the end!”

I love that Felicia was open to getting her feet wet and jumping in the pool! The water was warm from the San Diego summer heatwave. Soon after she got in the pool, the sun set behind the rolling hills. It was a great way to end our maternity session at Keys Creek Lavender Farm in San Diego.  During our maternity portraits, I asked Felicia what she’s looking forward to the most, “I’m looking forward to holding him, but what I really can’t wait for after he’s born, is having sushi and a glass of wine.” Cheers to that, girl! Those are two of my favorite things, too. 🙂

Below are a few favorite photos from our maternity session at Keys Creek Lavender Farm. I hope that you enjoy them!
