I was inspired by the moon the other night. It was full, mysterious, and beautiful. The full moon was striking and I felt compelled to bust out the tripod (something I rarely do) and set out to photograph it from my backyard.
I wrote this poem when my husband was away on a long deployment. Can you tell I was missing him?
Here’s how to photograph the moon.
What you need:
- Tripod
- DSLR with a zoom lens (at least 200mm, but the longer the lens the better)
The camera settings:
I used my Nikon DSLR camera and a steady tripod to take this image of the moon.
- ISO 200 (Keep this low, otherwise the moon will look hazy and the moonlight will appear all distorted.)
- Focal length: 300mm
- Aperture: F11
- Shutter speed: 1/125
Try it on a clear night. It’s amazing how much detail you will capture!
XO,
Kristine
