All of this, leads to lots of heart tugs and “awww”s from me. I was so honored to photograph seven-day-old baby Eily, bright and early on Father’s Day.  Eily Grace was born on June 9th at exactly 9:09 PM.  She is beautiful, and as her Irish name suggests, she lights up the room, and the whole nine yards.San Diego Newborn Photographer | www.KristineMariePhotography.com

She smiled, then puckered  up for a kiss. I melt.

I loved doing this newborn portrait session. It’s unlike any other session that I’ve done in the past.  The love I captured was tender, soothing, new, and pure.  For this newborn session, I combined a styled newborn portraiture and family lifestyle portrait for Frank and Amy to capture these precious moments as a brand new mom and dad. The result was a nice mix of candid images of the new parents rocking their baby girl to sleep, and angelic portraits of newborn Eily.San Diego Newborn Photographer | www.KristineMariePhotography.comSan Diego Newborn Photographer | www.KristineMariePhotography.comSan Diego Newborn Photographer | www.KristineMariePhotography.com

I enjoyed seeing how Frank and Amy were already developing a strategy, tag-teaming and taking shifts rocking the baby to sleep, so the other could enjoy breakfast, and put on a fresh shirt. I drove to their lovely home in Escondido, and as I set up my studio, I chatted with them about being new parents, and their experience with their first born baby. As I was cradling Eily and getting ready to pose her, I  learned that Amy gave birth to Eily naturally. I thought to myself: Wow. This woman gave up coffee, sushi, AND gave birth without any painkillers. I don’t think I can go without the first two things on that list for a week! I would have given her a mighty high-five if I wasn’t holding the baby.San Diego Newborn Photographer | www.KristineMariePhotography.com

It’s evident that Eily has stolen her dad’s heart. It was great timing that our newborn portrait session happened on Frank’s very first Father’s Day.San Diego Newborn Photographer | www.KristineMariePhotography.comSan Diego Newborn Photographer | www.KristineMariePhotography.com

Frank and Amy are so smitten with their precious newborn baby girl and each other. While Eily was in her dad’s arms, Amy looked adoringly up at him, and simply said, “I love you.”  He blinked away tears. It was such a tender moment between the two of them (scratch that–the three of them) that I almost had to look away.
