t the grocery store, three-year-old Brooklyn will randomly give out compliments to complete strangers. It’s one of her favorite things to do. She will say to someone, “Oh, I like your shirt. So cute!” It makes her mom smile hat Brooklyn can brighten up someone’s day with a small act of kindness.

Erin reflects on her own personal growth as she raises a child, “I think I’ve grown and learned the most about myself over the past three years. I attribute that to Brooklyn. Having a child brings forward a sense of self-awareness and selflessness. I’ve learned that the world doesn’t revolve around me (shocking). So, when I was given this wonderful gift of being responsible for someone else’s well being, I also gained within me a feeling of gratitude, appreciation, and contentment. I love that fact that Brooklyn, although only three, has basically propelled me to live a life full of value and love.”

It’s important to document and celebrate motherhood. So often, many mothers are behind the scenes and behind the camera. It’s important that moms are in the picture, too! Below are some favorite photos of Erin with her daughter, Brooklyn. Their beautiful “mommy and me photoshoot” in San Diego captures Brooklyn’s affectionate spirit, and mirrors her mother’s beauty.

I love this next set of images below. I especially love the photo of Brooklyn nestled in her mother’s arms, eyes closed and her tiny hand embracing her mom.

Erin describes her daughter as such a lover! “Although reserved and shy at first, Brooklyn is the most caring and affectionate little human I’ve ever met. She can instantly turn someone’s day around by her fascination and excitement for the simplest things in life.”

Dresses are for twirling like a ballerina…and also for skipping stones in the creek. 🙂

It’s true, Brooklyn has a heart bigger than her three-year old frame. It’s as if you can see Erin’s heart overflow with each soft kiss from her sweet daughter.

I asked Erin if she could share something personal with me. I asked her to leave a time capsule message for her daughter, Brooklyn. What would you say to her on her 18th Birthday? Below is a mom’s heartfelt and empowering message to her beautiful daughter:

“Brooklyn, you have been my biggest blessing and my most valuable creation. One of the many things I love about you is your natural ability to smile and laugh at the littlest and simplest of things. Keep that with you! There will be many times where you will doubt your dreams or fall short of your goals-and that’s okay! The best lessons are made from those hardships. We will always love and admire you. But at the end of the day–we want for you to be your biggest advocate and your biggest fan. Your possibilities will be endless!
