Family gathered to celebrate the lovely, Cory on her 65th birthday at the iconic La Valencia Hotel in beautiful La Jolla, California. La Valencia Hotel, also known as “The Pink Lady” has both mediterranean and Spanish influences. La Valencia Hotel is both elegant and charming with hard-to-miss pale pink walls. The hotel was built in 1926, and is a favorite hotel for many visitors for its stunning ocean views, historic decor, and delicious food! Cory and her family celebrated in style in one of the banquet rooms upstairs, called the Galeria.
Cory’s twin daughters, Suzette and Susanne threw a wonderful luncheon to celebrate their mom’s birthday at La Valencia Hotel. Below are a few photos from this special event in San Diego.

For starters, guests enjoyed an endless oyster bar with various garnishes.
Both of Cory’s twin daughters shared a toast for their mom. Their words were both heartfelt and endearing. Susanne’s was touching, and there were very few dry eyes in the room. As a daughter, it made me want to call my mom and let her know my gratitude for the similar sacrifices she made for me and my siblings.
Suzette’s speech opened with a funny introduction, and got everyone laughing. Her toast kind of reminded me of the fun song, “When I’m Sixty Four” by the Beatles, which my dad sings on the keyboards. 🙂
Cory and her family all raised their glasses with well-wishes for her milestone birthday.
The spread was amazing, with gourmet salads and three different types of entrees: chicken, sea bass, and flat-iron steak. I whole-heartedly agree with Suzette when she mentioned that delicious food was a must-have, and one of the deciding factors when choosing a venue for this special event.
Conversations flowed over delicious food and fresh oysters.

Cory and her family had the whole day ahead of them after the luncheon. La Jolla is a breathtaking city, and they had an amazing view from the Galeria at La Valencia.
Happy Birthday, Cory! I wish you a year full of prosperity and joy. It was a wonderful celebration to photograph, and it was great to meet your family. Cory, Suzette and Susanne, thank you so much for your hospitality, and treating me so warmly. I hope you love the photos!
