On-screen chemistry… If Holly and Michael starred as lovers in a movie, they would surely have it. Do you ever notice how some actors in movies just work together so well? Their on-screen chemistry so apparent that it’s hard not to fall in love with them. In romantic comedies, think Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock in 2 Weeks Notice, or how about the all-time classic When Harry Met Sally starring Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan! One of my favorites: Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore in 50 First Dates and The Wedding Singer…  Those pairs of actors have such fantastic chemistry that you wonder if they would be couples off-screen.

Do you have a favorite on-screen couple? As a photographer, I must admit that not all couples have that natural chemistry between them on-camera, but Holly and Michael surely do.

It’s in the way he looks at her, and her at him. It’s in the playful way that they flirt… and how easy a laugh comes bubbling up between them.

Holly and Michael met in the new-age way through a dating website. Their first few dates included trips to the movie theater. In fact, Michael has a knack for acting and has taken acting lessons. He has even landed a role in some films, with Holly as his number one fan. The adorable pair enjoy watching movies together, as they did when they were first dating. The soon-to-be-newlyweds chose such a unique location for their engagement photoshoot–a movie theater!

We headed to Vintage Village movie theater in Coronado, California for their engagement photos. Vintage Village Cinema is an old movie theater with the quaint charm and seriously, the best movie-theater popcorn! 🙂

Michael proposed to Holly in Temecula after wine-tasting. He decorated their hotel suite lavishy with roses everywhere. Romantic as it sounds, he bemused, he thought that he “ruined the surprise” because he simply can’t keep secrets from Holly. Holly laughs at this, quietly agreeing.  Their love is real, on-screen or off–and I’m so grateful to have been there to capture it.

I love the this next photo of Holly and Michael in the red velvet seats at Vintage Village Theater before the curtain goes up.  They are so happy in love and there’s no denying it. The arm rest goes up and the adorable couple get cozy in their seats.

Holly and Michael definitely chose a unique location for their engagement session here in San Diego and it was an absolute blast to photograph the two of them!

Thank you for a great engagement session, Holly and Michael! I can’t wait for your wedding in October!!!
