O ne of the best ways to truly learn about a person is to travel and explore faraway places with them. Traveling develops an internal compass for the person you love. The more you travel, the more you find yourself at home with the person you’re with. In love and wanderlust–it doesn’t get better than that.
Kenna and Thai collect memories, not things. They believe in exploration and seeing as much of this beautiful world as possible. They can be polar opposites, but they both share a wanderlust that has brought them to Bali, Singapore, China, and white-water rafting in Vancouver just to name a few destinations.
For their romantic and whimsical engagement session, we started with a little picnic at the park. The view of San Diego was beautiful after morning showers that day. Below are some photos from their engagement session in San Diego, California.
Kenna and Thai met at a sake tasting event in Hillcrest and have been together for five years. In theme, their first date was at a sushi restaurant. Fast forward five years and they have collected a string of beautiful memories and several stamps on their passports from their travels. Thai surprises Kenna with a proposal where they had their first date. Kenna is impressed that Thai remembers their first date since he is not very romantic!
I love the sweetness of this romantic photo of Kenna and Thai. This photo reminds me of two puzzle pieces that perfectly fall into place.
A lovely picnic at sunset was followed by a trip to Windandsea Beach in La Jolla. We packed up our picnic and set off.
Kenna and Thai are not only perfect travel companions, but they perfectly compliment each others’ personality. She is a romantic at heart, she plans, and often sees six sides to a story. A non-romantic, but thoughtful nonetheless, Thai adds spontaneity in her structured plans, and an optimistic outlook to all six sides that she sees.
There are so many variables when you travel, and it requires trust in the one person you know in an unknown place. Kenna and Thai are building trust beyond measure in their beautiful relationship, and loving each others’ company as they explore. “Kenna is always full of surprises and showed me the meaning of patience,” Thai says.
The tide was rising and the sun was setting at Windandsea Beach. The beautiful couple enjoyed the breathtaking view.
I love this romantic photo of Thai sweeping Kenna off her feet.
Kenna is gorgeous in a soft pink dress.
Kenna admires Thai’s spontaneity and his optimistic nature. I noticed how Thai smiles so easily around Kenna. They make each other laugh and it was so much fun to capture in camera.
Congratulations, Kenna and Thai! Thank you for an amazing afternoon and absolutely rocking your engagement session! I loved spending time with you both and hope that your session with me was fun and memorable. Can’t wait to see where your next destination will be!
Family and friends of this beautiful couple, please feel free to leave a message for Kenna and Thai!
