There’s a quiet confidence about them. An unspoken certainty in each other that I was grateful to document in photographs as we walked around downtown San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter and the San Diego Convention Center. We began at one of their favorite places and where their love story blossomed, at the historic heart of San Diego.
Brenda and Cesar met in Las Vegas the weekend of the Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather boxing fight. (I made sure that they were Team Pacquiao, otherwise our engagement session would have been cut short. ;))
Brenda was out having cocktails with her friends when Cesar introduced himself to Brenda. Conversation sparked and at the end of the night, Cesar and Brenda exchanged phone numbers.
How Cesar Proposed to Brenda:
Brenda and Cesar are enjoying a romantic dinner at Juniper & Ivy in downtown San Diego. Towards the end of dinner, Cesar stepped away from the table. While he was away, Brenda was surprised with a vase full of beautiful flowers delivered to their table. Minutes later, dessert arrived. Brenda had no idea what was happening and Cesar was nowhere to be found. Then, Brenda hears Cesar reciting what seems to be a poem:
“From the way you smile
To the way you look
You capture me
Unlike no other
From the first hello
Yeah, that’s all it took
And suddenly
We had each other
And I won’t leave you
Always be true
One plus one, two for life
Over and over again…”
Brenda didn’t realize until later that Cesar was reciting the lyrics to their favorite song: “Over and Over Again” by Nathan Skyes. Confused by what was happening, she kept asking Cesar to sit down. She had no idea that he was about to propose to her!
After the first verse, Cesar fell to one knee and asked Brenda to marry him. Brenda was completely taken by surprise by Cesar’s romantic proposal. She was so happy and of course, said “Yes!”
Brenda is a registered nurse and her thoughtfulness makes her excellent at what she does. “Brenda is a thoughtful, loving and, kind person who knows how to share. I love that she has a good sense of humor,” Cesar speaks highly of his beautiful fiance.
Cesar is a chiropractor and is currently practicing in Las Vegas. “Cesar is a kind, thoughtful and caring man. It’s great that he also enjoys the outdoors. I love that he is very patient and open to trying new things,” Brenda adores her husband-to-be.
The lovely couple both enjoy working out and hiking. You can often find them on date nights trying new restaurants, and simply loving life together.
