I
But…Kelly lives in Colorado and Chuck lives in San Diego. Long distance relationships rarely ever work out. The odds don’t stop the two of them, however. A few months after they meet, Chuck hops on a plane to visit Kelly in Denver, and that’s when their long distance relationship begins. They grow closer and closer despite the distance between them.
Fast forward two years and Kelly makes a big move and relocates to San Diego to be with Chuck. Now, Kelly and Chuck are engaged to be married!
Below are some favorite photos from their Pacific Beach engagement session. We toured a few favorite places in Pacific Beach. Our fist stop was Belmont Park!
We started our engagement session at Belmont Park in Mission Beach where Chuck and Kelly shared cotton candy. Kelly won herself a teddy bear. 🙂
Kelly’s ring looks beautiful atop the pink cloud of cotton candy.
With their beach cruisers in tow, we then headed to Fanuel Park in Mission Beach.
Afterward, we headed to Crystal Pier to enjoy the sunset. It was a “chilly” day in San Diego, which means it was in the low 70’s, sunny and beautiful in December. It was a perfect day to spend by the beach and take engagement photos.
The sign on the post says, “Happiness is being loved,” and I couldn’t agree more.
Kelly and Chuck wrote their wedding date on the sand.
“The sun was setting, we were walking on the beach together and he drops to one knee and asks me to be his wife.
Chuck is a firefighter for the city of San Diego and he often spends time at the firestation away from Kelly. For this next photo, I asked them to greet each other after being away from each other for a while. I love that Chuck sweeps Kelly of her feet below!
From Kelly:
“I love how Chuck can make me smile at the times when I should feel at my worst, how he can bring light to every situation. Every morning when he gets home from working at the fire station, a smile wakes me up because I’m so excited to see him–even if it’s only been for a day. Chuck’s gestures to make me happy never go unnoticed and I love that he makes me smile everyday.”
This next photo of the lovely couple is definitely one of my favorites. I think how they look at each other says a lot about just how much they adore each other.
From Chuck:
“I love how easily Kelly’s beautiful smile comes to her face. How she is exactly who she wants to be, all the way down to her white girl dance moves. And how she makes me feel every time I first see her, no matter how long I’ve been away.”
xoxo,
