Veronica + Kyle are Engaged! | Balboa Park San Diego Engagement

He didn’t ask for her number.
They met by chance, in a little hippie cafe in Encinitas, CA. Veronica was visiting one of her friends in San Diego, before returning back home to Brazil.  This is where Veronica and Kyle first met. The two of them spoke for a while over coffee. Kyle remembers being intrigued by Veronica, and recalls how beautiful she looked, but he was too shy to ask for her number. After the initial conversation, they parted ways, without exchanging numbers.

It could have been a lost opportunity at love. Luckily, Veronica and Kyle ran into each again… and again around town during the summer. It must have been a sign. Finally, Kyle mustered the nerve to ask Veronica for her phone number.

The two of them spoke on the phone several times before their first date. Veronica was reluctant to start a relationship with someone, knowing that she was only in San Diego for the summer. Kyle was so fun and kind that she decided to give him a chance–and she’s so glad that she did.

Their first date was amazing. They enjoyed a romantic dinner and a bottle of wine. They watched the sunset, and talked all night long. Before their first date had even ended, the two of them were already making plans for their second date. They spent all summer together getting to know each other.

Well, it was a summer romance that weathered all four seasons for about six years and counting.

Below are a few favorite photos from Veronica and Kyle’s engagement at beautiful Balboa Park in San Diego, California.

I absolutely love this next photo of Veronica and Kyle. This is about 5 minutes into their engagement photoshoot. They are already having so much fun! No matter what they’re doing, they make the most of it and simply cherish the nearness of each other.

In January, at June Lake, with the snow-capped mountains, and the surrounding lake around them, Veronica and Kyle stepped out onto the balcony to enjoy the breathtaking winter view. At this moment, Kyle’s family and Veronica’s mom, who was visiting from Brazil could hardly contain their excitement. They stood behind the windows, and pressed their faces as close to the glass windows, cameras and champagne at the ready.

Everyone but Veronica knew that Kyle was about to propose that day.

Veronica was completely surprised. Kyle recalls his favorite moment about the proposal–aside from the love of his life saying “Yes!” of course. “When I got down on my knee she could not stop saying ‘Wait, what are you doing?’ over and over.  After I asked her she kept saying it and I had to ask if that meant yes or no? Lucky for me she said yes.”

“Veronica is an amazing person I love how caring she is. I could never find another person who would be as great of a wife and mother as I know Veronica will be,” Kyle says adoringly about his future wife.

“I love that Kyle makes me laugh all the time even when I’m having a bad day. Also how caring and romantic he is,” Veronica says.
