riends and family teased them. They knew that Dustin and Sarah were a couple before the two “friends” realized that they were in love with each other. After all, they were inseparable–they worked together and they loved hanging out with mutual friends. You would often find them at the beach playing beach volleyball, wining and dining with friends, and sharing many laughs.
Dustin and Sarah took their time and didn’t date until three years into their friendship. It’s safe to say that the awesome couple were best friends before they got married, and they continue to be as husband and wife.
Family and friends from New York and Wisconsin, and all over flew in to celebrate on their wedding day at Scripps Seaside Forum in La Jolla, California. I adore this couple and their love! They each have a competitive spirit, playful and so darn charming. I am so grateful to capture the biggest day of their life as their wedding photographer. Below are few favorite photos from their coastal wedding at Scripps Seaside Forum.
Sarah gifted each of her bridesmaids with a beautiful bracelet.
Sarah’s mom helped Sarah get ready and put on the finishing touches.
The lace detail on Sarah’s dress was simply beautiful.
The bride and groom opted to do a First Look and they saw each other before the ceremony. It was a sweet and tearful experience for Dustin and Sarah.
Sarah and her brother, Brandon are very close. The two of them shared a big hug when Brandon first saw his sister as a bride.
Scripps Seaside Forum has an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean, with Scripps pier along the horizon.
Dustin and Sarah chose a neutral palette for the bridal party. The bridesmaids wore long dresses in a soft gray color, and the groomsmen wore gray suits and coral ties.
Dustin and Sarah are a super fun couple and I love that we got to play up that side of their personalities in their wedding photographs.
A photograph of Sarah’s late father in a beautiful charm was pinned to her bridal bouquet.
Sarah’s wedding bouquet was gorgeous–large Peach David Austin roses, and white hydrangeas!
The modern architecture at Scripps Seaside Forum gave us lots of options for photographs.
Sarah’s mom, Julie, and her brother Brandon walked her down the aisle.
Dustin was all smiles at the sight of his beautiful bride.
Haha, I love the two thumbs up sign after they completed their wedding vows.
Dustin and Sarah are married!!!
The newlyweds shared a kiss as they walked down the aisle.
In lieu of a wedding cake, the bride and groom had a delicious spread of donuts! “Glazed and delicious from the Mr. and Mrs.”
During cocktail hour, many raised their glasses towards the palm trees for a corona toast to Sarah’s late father.
Fall weddings in San Diego are beautiful… if we time it perfectly, the bride and groom romantic portraits are at golden hour… an hour or so before the sunsets.
Dustin and Sarah are perfect for each other. I love this romantic photo of them under her veil.
We took a stroll on the beach towards Scripps pier.
That light, their love… it was perfect.
Hahaha! It’s only fitting to include this fun photo of the newlyweds racing each other–Dustin likening the wedding bouquet to a football. After the photo, Sarah asked me, “so who won?” Gotta love a little healthy competition to keep him on his toes!
The newlyweds danced to “The One You Love,” for their first dance as husband and wife.
Their wedding guests had a spectacular view from Scripps Seaside Forum.
As a tribute to Sarah’s father, her brother danced with her, and their mother would join them. It was definitely one of the most touching moments of the day.
The party was in full swing afterward!
YES. Just YES! The junior groomsmen had an air guitar/dance off with the bride.
It was pretty epic.
Limbo, dancing, drinking, dancing, and more dancing! Special shout out to DJ Hersch for rocking the house.
Dustin and Sarah’s wedding at Scripps Seaside Forum in La Jolla, California was nothing short of beautiful. There was so much love and happiness throughout the day.
Dustin and Sarah, thank you both so much for choosing me to be your wedding photographer. I’m so grateful to have been a part of your day. I loved getting to know you guys and witnessing your wedding. I think your awesome relationship is testament to why it’s always a good idea to marry your best friend.
