T
hey caught each other’s attention at a friend’s party. Jessica noticed the cute boy who towered over everyone. Tyler stole glances over to the pretty girl with the striking smile. At some point during the night, the two of them got to talking, and in the midst of loud music and half-full solo cups, they parted ways. They silently promised to continue the conversation in a quieter setting, but just one problem–they forgot to exchange numbers. A few days fater the party, Jessica, being the resourceful and confident girl that she is, called up a mutual friend and got Tyler’s number. From there, they began dating.
Summer was coming to a close and it seemed that there was another hurdle that their young relationship faced. Both living in Sacramento at the time, Tyler will soon be moving to San Diego to attend UCSD.
Thinking back on it, Jessica laughs at how silly it may have sounded to follow a boy that she liked to a new city. Jessica was Felicity, taking a giant leap and literally following what her heart wants. This leap landed her in beautiful San Diego where she and her now fiance Tyler are seven years strong.
For their engagement session, the lovely couple chose Windandsea Beach in La Jolla, California. It seems that many of their milestones as a couple are set and anchored by the sea: She recalls walking hand-in-hand with Tyler at Mission Beach in San Diego. This is where he asked her to be his girlfriend. Jessica thought this was the sweetest thing, and adored Tyler for asking her, “I didn’t even know if people still asked people that!”
Fast forward a few years and they found themselves walking along the coast in La Jolla. At a park, overlooking the Pacific, Tyler asked Jessica not just to be his girlfriend, but to be his wife. Soon, the two of them will come full circle, and marry at Scripps Seaside Forum, a beautiful wedding venue just a stone’s throw from the ocean.
Below are a few favorite photos from Jessica and Tyler’s Windandsea beach engagement.
What a stunning bride to be…
As the sun began to set, we headed to the shore.
Jessica wore a long flowy dress that that looked gorgeous with the ocean backdrop.
I absolutely love Jessica and Tyler in this next photo. I think it sums up their overflowing sentiments for each other. There’s so much love and happiness between them.
I loved photographing Jessica and Tyler. They fell right into each other’s arms and made it so easy to capture genuine moments.
Like children at play, we all squealed when the waves rushed in.
The beautiful couple ended their romantic engagement session under the straw hut at Windandsea Beach.
It takes guts, and a brave, romantic heart to make a giant leap to a new city, but it all worked out for both of them. It landed Jessica in Tyler’s arms where she feels very much at home.
Jessica and Tyler, thank you for such a great engagement session at Windandsea Beach. I’m so happy for both of you and I can’t wait to document your wedding day!
