Laughter and chatter traveled through the dormitories. It was an ordinary evening at the dorms on campus at San Diego State University where Jaime and some of her friends are hanging out. In walks Brennan who lives in an adjoining dorm room–disturbed by the noise that Jaime and her friends were making. Brennan sternly asked Jaime and her friends to keep it down. This is the story of how they met ten years ago.
To this day, Jaime still argues that her and her friends were not even being very loud, but both Jaime and Brennan are glad that it happened and can laugh about it now.
They became friends, and after a while, their mutual friends sensed the flirtatious energy between them. Their friends often teased Jaime and Brennan, purposely giving them one drink with two straws, so that they had no choice but to share.
It seemed to work.
They dated during their undergrad years at San Diego State University, including trips to Mexico in college, shenanigans, and study dates. Fast forward about a decade of dating, and they’ve since graduated to regular romantic dinners, sharing drinks and dessert in dozens of the amazing restaurants in San Diego, and of course, spoiling their sweet dog, Lola.
The happy couple chose to have their engagement session at Murphy Canyon near their apartment in Banker’s Hill in San Diego. Their dog Lola joined the two of them in the familiar trails that they often walk through.
Below are a few favorite photos of Jaime and Brennan’s canyon engagement in San Diego.
Their dog, Lola is super sweet and would lovingly look at her mom and dad with those adorable puppy dog eyes.
I love this smiling photo of Lola as Jaime and Brennan share a kiss.
On Jaime’s birthday week, Brennan planned a romantic outing on a boat at sunset, complete with champagne. That day, he popped The Question and surprised Jaime with a diamond ring. Brennan’s proposal took Jaime by complete surprise, and with a tearful “yes”, she agreed to his proposal.
Despite their un-romantic initial introductions, Jaime and Brennan’s relationship has withstood a decade, and they’re shooting for a lifetime.
I adore this next photo of Jaime and Brennan, and a bashful Lola!
As we strolled into Little Itally, we passed by a sign that said, “Life is better with a dog.” We wholeheartedly agree!
We ended our session with a glass of wine in Little Italy.
Congratulations, Jaime and Brennan! You two are a perfect match, and I’m looking forward to photographing your wedding in a few months!!!
Feel free to leave a comment for the lovely couple!
