Romantic Vineyard Engagement

t all started with a comma and a period, with Kristle pointing out that her co-worker missed a couple of marks on a document they were editing. Aaron and Kristle were co-workers working part-time in editorial assisting jobs. Aaron, is shy and quiet, often heads down and in deep concentration at his work. Kristle is just as shy, but you wouldn’t know it when she flashes you her warm smile.

Aaron remembers what initially drew him to her eight years ago. He was walking back to his desk when he saw Kristle smiling and waving him down. “Her great smile is the very first thing that I noticed about Kristle,” Aaron recalls.

After he smiled back at her, she said, “Umm, I think you missed a comma and a period here.” He still remembers the purple marks on the paper where she marked his mistakes. He didn’t mind at all that he missed a couple of small edits. That missing comma and period is how their love story began.

They started dating, becoming inseparable. One summer in 2011, Kristle joined Aaron and his family to a vacation trip to Maui. They spent all day at the beach, relaxing and enjoying all of the touristy things. Often, in a long relationship that has withstood the test of time, there isn’t a single moment nor a particular day that confirms that this person is the one. It’s hard to pinpoint without recalling all of the amazing moments together.

For Aaron, it was simply being with her and how she made him feel. “We were having so much fun just hanging out.” In Maui, with the gorgeous views, and the salty breeze, he realized that he wanted to spend every single day with Kristle. He wanted nothing more than hold her hand. If they can travel and see more of this world together, that is just a bonus.

Aaron proposed to Kristle at a winery while they were having a picnic. It was only fitting to have their engagement photoshoot at a winery.

How He Proposed:

I was anxious and nervous all day, especially during the proposal. I’ve never been that nervous before and it felt like my heart was beating extremely loud and fast.

After a few glasses of wine and a few bites of pizza, I asked her if she wanted to go to the patio to look at the view of the vineyard and the mountains. I knew that she was going to want to take a picture of the great view, so when she turned her back to setup the wine glasses on the ledge, that’s when I got down on one knee and pulled the ring out of my sleeve.

When she turned back around, she looked a bit confused because I wasn’t standing behind her, and that’s when she realized what was happening.

Tears rolled down her eyes and with my voice trembling, I told her that she is the most thoughtful and loving person that I’ve ever known and I want to spend the rest of my life with her. I asked her to marry me.

For their engagement photos, we loosely recreated their romantic proposal. We spent the day at Danza del Sol Winery in the beautiful wine country of Temecula, CA. In the 40-acre vineyard, with lush grapes ripening on the vine, and the sun setting behind the rolling hills, the beautiful couple enjoyed a glass of red wine in one of the most romantic settings.

The soon to be bride and groom enjoyed a little picnic right on the vineyard at Danza del Sol Winery, where they will be getting married this year. I can’t wait to see these two finally tie the knot!!!
