Justin + Amy are Married! | California Center for the Arts Museum Wedding | Escondido, CA

There are some people who you are instantly comfortable around. Justin and Amy are the kind of people whose smiles are warm and instantly makes you want to be their friend. They’re kind, down-to-earth, and completely smitten with each other. I learned their awesome love story and got to know them better during their engagement session. I knew that they would throw an amazing celebration for their wedding. Be sure to check out their engagement session here.

Justin and Amy got married in a museum gallery at California Center for the Arts in Escondido, CA.  (The Center is located at 340 N Escondido Blvd, Escondido, CA 92025.)  The California Center for the Arts is a great place for a wedding venue because there are so many picturesque places, including: colorful murals, an orange grove, an old train, and interesting architecture just a rock’s throw from each other.

Justin and Amy were such a pleasure to work with. They made sure to have plenty of time for photographs  and we were able to take advantage of all of the different photo locations that the California Center for the Arts had to offer.  I’m so happy that they chose me to be their wedding photographer.

It was hard to keep this blog short and not include a bajillion of their wedding photos because it was a very eventful day, with two wedding dresses (one white, one red), a traditional Chinese tea ceremony, awesome grand entrances, serenades, and more! Below are just a few of my favorites from Justin and Amy’s California Center for the Arts museum gallery wedding in Escondido, CA.

I love the following set of images.. Amy walks down the spiral staircase at the California Center for the Arts theatre for the “First Look”. 

After the bride and groom saw each other for the first time on their wedding day, we headed over to Lyric Court. I loved the beautiful arches as a backdrop for their romantic bride and groom portraits.

We then headed over to the colorful, geometric murals at California Center for the Arts.

Justin and Amy are huge fans of Marvel comics. Check out Justin’s Batman socks!

We also took some bridal portraits and more bride and groom photos outside of the museum in the orange grove.  I’m telling you, there are so many amazing photo locations at this wedding venue! California Center for the Arts is awesome.  I was having a ball, and Justin and Amy were enjoying their romantic time together.

A fun fact that is personal to me about this day. Sometime during Justin and Amy’s portraits, I felt my phone vibrating. My sister was calling. I was working, so I sent the call to voicemail. Later that night, once I got home, I called my sister back and wondered why she didn’t leave me a message.  I found out that she was calling me to tell me that she just got engaged to her long-time boyfriend!!! How cool, right? There was definitely so much love in the air on Justin and Amy’s beautiful wedding day. This wedding is even more special to me.

For the last few minutes of our bride and groom portrait time together, we stopped by the old train car near campus. The next image is one of my favorites.

Amy changed into her red wedding dress for the traditional Chinese tea ceremony. I loooooved this dress. The lace, the beautiful cutout in the back, the pop of color against the greenery… Amy looked so elegant. 

Justin and Amy’s wedding ceremony was held in one of the galleries in the museum.

Married!

Their friends and family’s artwork hung on the walls of the gallery.

Justin and Amy’s wedding party was such a fun group. Their grand entrance was full of personality. Justin and Amy said that they embrace their geekiness, and I gotta love that!

Justin and Amy danced to a rendition of “At Last” by Etta James. After the first dance, which was one of the sweetest first dances ever, Justin surprised Amy…

He serenaded her…

Justin and Amy’s friends and family didn’t need much coaxing to get on the dance floor. I love a lively group!

This fun picture of The Mr. and Mrs. makes me smile.
